With over 25 years’ experience of working in graphic design including 7 years as a Golf Club Manager, I love being creative and achieving positive results for my clients. I bring a wide breadth of skill, energy and enthusiasm to every project I undertake and look forward to each new challenge.
My career in graphics began in the mid 1980s at Drury Patrick/Mill Studio, an established design partnership based in Sudbury, Suffolk, initially as a typographer. With the introduction of the PowerMac in the late 80’s everything changed - it was an exciting time to be in digital design and I was keen to move into this field. The partnership worked for a diverse range of clients including:
After 9 years I decided to go freelance and formed Karen Rowe Design, which traded from 1997 until 2009. I was able to work directly with Clients, Design Agencies and Marketing Consultancies including:
In July 2009 I took a sideways step to follow my other passion - golf, and was employed as a Golf Club Manager, on the Board of Directors as Company Secretary at Haverhill. I was able to bring a new element to the day to day running of the club, through my design and marketing skills, and the club went from strength to strength. It now has approximately 700 members and the business is worth in the region of £1m. Having worked for the club for almost 7 years, I was looking for another challenge and the time was right to switch my focus back to graphics and marketing. K-Mac Design & Promotion was formed to provide a digital marketing and advertising service to golf clubs throughout the UK.
K-Mac Design & Promotion provides a full graphic design service across all business sectors, local authorities and charities. The service includes branding, stationery, promotional literature, brochures and catalogues, exhibition, display and signage, packaging, photography and website design. We would be very happy to discuss your requirements and look forward to working with you to offer solutions that make a real difference to your business, to achieve your aims and objectives.
I have over 30 years’ experience of working for Ford Motor Company and left from full time employment in 2005, having worked for both Ford of Europe and Ford of Britain. During this time I worked in various departments gaining experience in a variety of roles...
This experience included knowledge of technical writing, time management, future model design improvement, product defect resolution, marketing, corporate fleet account management, the sales tender process and also organising corporate hospitality. I have worked with and helped manage the aftersales side for large corporate fleets such as Royal Mail, BT, Northgate and a number of utility companies.
Since I left, I have carried out voluntary work for a charitable organisation, Essex Community Foundation. During this time, I also set up my own Trust with them to aide young people, by means of a grant, with their sporting careers and ambitions.
I especially enjoy meeting and working with customers and potential new business to discuss their needs, overcome their problems and provide our thoughts and experience to fulfill these aims and objectives.
